Paris policewoman injured after motorist 'deliberately drove at her'
A PARIS policewoman has been injured after a motorist deliberately drove into her, according to reports.
The 37-year-old is said to have suffered wrist, back and knee injuries following the incident, which occurred outside the Elysee Palace, the President's residence.
French paper Le Parisien is claiming two suspects have been arrested while another two are on the run.
A reporter on BFM TV said the car had been driving the wrong way along a one-way system.
Stephanie Weber-Boyer, a member of the police union, said: "My colleague who was securing the Elysee, noticed a vehicle that was moving the wrong way.
"She approached. The vehicle hit her deliberately."
Authorities are yet to say if the incident is connected to last week's terror attacks in Paris that left 17 people dead.
France remains on high alert following the Charlie Hebdo magazine massacre and the siege of a kosher supermarket.
