Arsene Wenger handed DOUBLE injury blow ahead of Southampton trip
ARSENE WENGER has been handed a double injury blow ahead of the New Year's Day trip to Southampton.
Lukas Podolski is set to lead the line for Arsenal, with Olivier Giroud joining Welbeck on the sidelines as he serves the second of a three match ban after being sent off against QPR on Boxing Day.
England ace Theo Walcott could also be in line for an appearance, with Wenger revealing the 25-year-old is on course for an appearance.
"Walcott is involved because he was already in the squad," the Gunners boss added. "Of course I judge him a bit short on the competition front but on the fitness front he is ready to play."
