You're sick!
The outrageous excuses people use to pull a sickie
"My plastic surgery has gone wrong and I need to get it fixed," was one of the most outrageous excuses used for not turning up to work.
Another was "I thought it was a bank holiday and I'm 500 miles away.
And one cheeky work-dodger used the excuse "I've accidentally sent my uniform to the charity shop so I need to go and buy it back".
But the majority of people settle for a more gullable excuse to skip work like the weather, a hangover or a lie-in.
A shocking 69 per cent of the nations workers said they would be tempted to take Monday 2 February off dubbed National Sickie Day.
Last year an estimated 375,000 people pulled a sickie on that day costing businesses £34 million in lost productivity according to analysts.
The weather topped the most popular reason for people to stay at home 38 per cent of the 1,600 people surveyed for The Fine Bedding Company survey saids they've rather have a duvet day when the weather was bad.
It's thought a hangover sickie at this time of year is directly linked to celebrating the end of "dry January".
