EXCLUSIVE:
Tottenham in pursuit of Sevilla's Colombian striker Carlos Bacca
TOTTENHAM are tracking Sevillas Colombian hot-shot Carlos Bacca.
Paul Mitchell, head of recruitment at White Hart Lane, saw Bacca score in Sevillas 3-2 Europa League win in Germany against Borussia Monchengladbach on Thursday night.
Bacca helped Sevilla win the competition last season after a successful spell in Belgium with Bruges.
He has scored 28 goals in 59 league games for the Spanish club and was in Colombias World Cup squad last year.
Bacca has a £22million buy-out clause in his Sevilla contract, which runs until 2018.
A potential stumbling block to a deal being agreed is Baccas age he is 28.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy prefers younger signings but Tottenham have been impressed with Bacca.
But Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has a big decision to make today on who is in goal for the Capital One Cup Final against Chelsea.
Frances Hugo Lloris is Spurs first-choice keeper but Dutchman Michel Vorm has been their regular stopper in the League Cup.
Meanwhile, Spurs legend Glenn Hoddle fears their Europa League exit will put a major dent in his former clubs chance of glory today.
Pochettinos dejected outfit face Chelsea in the final at Wembley on the back of a disastrous defeat at the hands of Fiorentina.
And Hoddle, 57, who bossed both Spurs and the Blues, believes the horror show in Italy could leave the White Hart Lane side short of confidence.
He said: A defeat would be a massive blow for them after the Fiorentina loss. One defeat could carry on to the next.
The pressure has built because they have gone out of the Europa League and dont have that to fall back on.
That result has got to have an impact at Wembley both in the physical side of having to travel and mentally after losing.
Yet Hoddle offers a glimmer of hope for Tottenham against Jose Mourinhos troops in the shape of Christian Eriksen and Harry Kane.
He added: Eriksen and Kane are obviously the two who could hurt Chelsea.
Eriksen has come up with some important goals and Kane is on fine form. But can he peak in a cup final?
Thats what every Spurs fan wants. I dont think theres pressure on him, he just goes out and does his stuff.
Hes young and hasnt put any pressure on himself.
